FREEDOM

To think fresh you need to be free of all impressions. Let go of all impressions right this moment and be hollow and empty. When you hear a word, the sound instantaneously conveys the meaning. Similarly, the knowledge that you are sitting, standing or talking needs neither confirmation nor proof.
Just an intention to be free makes you immediately free.
Realizing that freedom is your very nature brings enormous shakti- energy

VIRTUES

Virtues cannot be cultivated. You must assume that they are there. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna said to Arjuna, "Grieve not Arjuna, you are born with virtues." The seeker should remember that he is born with virtues; otherwise he would not be a seeker. If you think you have no virtues and then try to cultivate them, you will fail.
You compare yourself with others on teh basis of virtues. Do not compare yourself with anyone. Simply recognise all the virtues you appreciate in others and realise that those virtues are present in you in seed form. You only have to nurture them.

Five aspects of Education

Education has - five aspects:
  • Information - Often we think that information is eductaion, but it is only one aspect of education.
  • Concepts - Concepts are the basis for all research. You need to conceive of something in order to create.
  • Attitude - An integral aspect of education is cultivating the right attitude. Proper attitude at the right time and the right place determines your actions and behaviour.
  • Imagination - Imagination is essential for creativity for the arts. But if you get stuck in imagination, you can become psychotic.
  • Freedom - Freedom is your very nature. Only with freedom do joy, generosity and other human values blossom. Without freedom, imagination becomes stagnant, attitudes become stifling, concepts become a burden and information is of no value.

GOD

On the day of the full moon at the ancient temple of Kollur an elaborately decorated chariot of the goddess is pulled around the temple.
Each one of us is a chariot carrying the power of God within. We are the real chariots of the Divine.
Our Body is the chariot and our soul is the deity that is pulled around to purify the world.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge is a burden if it robs you of innocence
Knowledge is a burden if it makes you feel you are special.
Knowledge is a burden if it gives you an idea that you are wise.
Knowledge is a burden if it is not integrated into life.
Knowledge is a burden if it does not bring you joy.
Knowledge is a burden if it does not set you free.

GOD

Testing is part of ignorance. You only test that of which you are not sure. If God is testing you, it means God does not know you.
How could you ever think that God is testing you? God does not test you because he knows you completely - your past, present and future. He knows your strengths and weaknesses and He alone gives you strength. He does not test you.
Only you can test yourself. You test yourself only when you do not have confidence. If you are confident, why would you test? If you are testing yourself, you do not know yourself.
Are you testing God? God will never pass your test because He will never show up for it. If He does show up for your test, then he is not God.

SEVA

Poor people fight for food. Rich people share their food. Richer are those who share power. Richer still are those who share fame. Richest of all those who share themselves. A person's wealth is measured by his ability to share and not by what he hoards.

Faith

Having Faith in the world without having faith in God does not bring complete peace. If you have faith and love, you automatically have peace and freedom. People who are extremely disturbed should only have faith in God to help overcome their problems.

There is a difference between faith and confidence. Faith is the beginning. Confidence is the result. Faith in yourself brings freedom. Faith in the world brings you peace of mind. Faith in God evokes love in you.

VIOLENCE

, srLife is a war. Doctors fight against disease. Lawyers fight against injustice. Teachers fight against ignorance.
Depression happens when you lose the will to fight. Arjuna was depressed; he did not want to fight. His bow fell from his hands and his fingures trembled but Krishna urged him to wake up and fight. The decision to fight can take away your depression.

Desire

Desire kills joy yet the goal of all desires is joy. Whenever happiness has disappeared from your life, look deep within and you will see it is because of desire.
Yet all that we desire is happiness. No creature desiring unhappiness is ever born, never has it happened before and never will it happen in the future.
When your small mind gets tired of running here and there, of wandering everywhere, it reaches the conclusion, "My desires have killed my happiness".

HABITS - VICES

Your inability to do something, such as break a habit, causes a pinch and when you are deeply pained by something, the pain will rid you of that habit.
If you are pained by your shortcomings, then you are a sadhak - a seeker.
Pain takes you out of addiction.

The Senses are like Fire

The senses are like fire. Your life is like a fire. Whatever you put into the fire of the senses burns. If you burn a tire, it creates pollution and a foul smell. But if you burn sandlewood, it creates fragrance. Some fires pollutes and others purify.

Celebration happens around the bonfire. Grief happens around the cremation fire. The same fire that supports life in winter also destroys.

You are like fire. Are you the fire that produces smoke and pollution or the flame of camphor that creates light and fragrance. A saint is a camphor flame light and the fragrance of love. He is the friend of life.

The highest quality of fire creates light and warmth. A medium quality fire creates light but also little smoke. The lowest quality fire produces only smoke and darkness. Learn to distinguish the different fires. If your senses are engages in goodness, you will create light and fragrance. If engages in impurity, you produce smoke and darkness. It is samyama that transforms the quality of fire in you.

The You That You Want To Change

Being in a crowd when you are alone is ignorance. A feeling of oneness in a crowd is a sign of wisdom. Being alone in a crowd is Enlightment.
Knowledge of life brings confidence and knowledge of death makes you fearless and centered.
Some know to celebrate when they are in a crowd. Some can only rejoice alone in silence. I tell you to do both. Celebrate while you are alone and celbrate when you are with people
Celebrate silence and celebrate noise.
Celebrate life and celebrate death.
